A resolution to seek the preserva- tion of the tract of woods along the branch of Rock Creek south of Tilden street and the Bureau of Standards to perve as a future parkway in the Dis- trict was unanimously adopted at the annual meeting of the Washington Chapter of the National Wild Flower Preservation Society in the National :.‘ voted to ational ght. Give Flower Talks. Dr. Wherry gave a brief account of a peculiar plant found growing in the Potomac River near Alexandria dur- ing the past year. A. Gambs, who described numerous flowers that grow in Norway. He named, among others, thé ranunculus glaciolis, a flower with a kind of pur- ple bloom that shoots up through the snow. and sometimes grows.in alti- tudes of 14,000 feet above sea level. The local chapter of the National ‘Wild Flower Preservation Society was organized in April, 1918, and now has mbout 350 membets, it is stated.
