Interment will be in Mount Olivet (‘Pmcle Fatally Injured in Effort to Save Blazing Automobile. John E. Dixon, 23 years old, of 339 Thirteenth ~street southeast, brother of Policeman Archie V. Dixon of the eleventh precinct, died yesterday at Emergency Hospital of burns he suf- fered three weks ago while trying to extinguish a fire in an automobile. Dixon's clothing was ignited by flames from the blazing car, which was parked in a lot at Third and M streets southwest. He was badly burned on the face, legs and arms before the flames were beaten out. A passing motorist took him to Emer- gency Hospital. PLANS CHRISTMAS PARTY. Bureau of Mines to Honor Holiday Thursday Night. Although no longer located in the Interfor ~ Department Building, “Daddy” Scott Turner and his staff of Bureau of Mines officials will spon- sor the annual Christmas party of the bureau in the auditorium of the Interfor Building Thursday night. The bureau’s Christmas party is an institution of many years' standing and is always participated in by officials of the bureau and of the department. The Mines Bureau, for many years a bureau of the Interior Department, is now under the Com- ce h.-]\rutl"(’llt and is housed in a Duflding of its own on Seventeenth street. The customary presentation of gifts, with motion pictures and a Punch and Judy show, will feature the entertai ment. Dancing will follow the regu- lar program in the corridors of the department. A Christmas party and dance was held by the colored employes of the offices of public buildings and public parks of the National Capital at the Interior Department Auditorium last night. Lieut. Col. U. 8. Grant, 3d, director, delivered an address, to which Theodore Randolph responded. There was an entertainment pro- gram preceding the dance.
