Hoffman appeared for the wife. MISS ZURHORST DEAD. Formerly Head of Domestic Arta and Science School. Miss Mary Arline Zurhorst, 49 years old, former head of a domestic sclence school here died at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles S. Zurhorst, 301 East Capitol street, yes- terday afternoon. She had been ill about three months. Born in Washington, Miss Zurhorst lived here until six years ago, when she went into business at New Ro- chelle, N. Y. In 1916, she built the Mount Alto Hospital buildings for her school. She later sold them to the United States Government. She is survived by her sister-in-law. “uneral services will be held at 301 Capitol street on Monday morn MWARDLE FUNERAL Physician Who Practiced Here 35 Years to Be Buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral services for Dr. Thomas E. McArdle, who died yesterday, will be in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, to- morrow morning at 10 o'clock. In terment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Dr. McArdle was 74 years old, a native Washingtonian, and a practic: ing physician here for more than 35 years. He had been in falling health for two years. At one time he was editor and pub- iisher of the National Medical Review, editor of the Walsh Retrospect In 1880-1881 and had contributed numer- ous articles to mediml journals. He was for many yea an active member of the Medical Society of Washington and an honorary member at the time of his death. He also was a former member of the Washington Academy ot Sciences. He was an at- tending physician at Children’s Hos- pital for many years. Dr. McArdle, was the son of the late Capt. Owen McArdle of the Con- federate Army, who was killed in the first battle of Bull Run. He received his A. B. degree from St. Mary’'s Uni- versity, Baitimore, in 1875, and his M. A. degree at the same institution. In 1879 he was graduated from the medlcal school of Georgetown Univer- sity. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marion V. McArdle, daughter of the late Dr. Ford Thompson of this city; two sons, M. McArdle, a local attorne; Ford McArdle, and one grandchild.
