Smith, 91 y yesterday at the John Dickson Home, 5000 Fourteenth street. He was born at Kandy, Ceylon, of Englsh parents, rated to the United States in 1849 and came to Washington during the Civil War to serve in the commissary department of the Union Army. He had lived at the John Dickson Home for the past 14 years tiring from busi at the Westc Market. Mr. Smith was a charter member and litelong worker of the Calvary Baptist Church, originally He wa formerly an active temperance advo cate and was a member of the Inde- pendent Order of Rechabites and the Association of Oldest Inhabitants During his later years his hobby w to mount pietures for the Children’ Hospital survived by a son, Samuel T.
