J. Cromelin, Struck by Auto, Succumbs Later at Garfield Hospital. Hurrying across Sixteenth street at the Intersection of Spring place last night to board a bus and keep a theater engagement with her son, Mrs. Mattie Jane Cromelin, 65 year old, of 1453 Spring place was struck by an automobile and fatally injured. She was taken to Garfield Hospital by Kenneth R. Peirce, 35 years old, 806 Kennedy street, driver of the car that struck Mrs. Cromelin, where she died three hours later. In the meantime her son, Paul B. Cromelin, former assistant district attorney, was waiting downtown and mother failed to arrive he consulted the police, who informed him of the accident.
