BERLIN, September 6.—The battle of Saratoga again is being fought and thousands of spectators are viewing the sanguinary en- counter. The battle ground is Wahn- schaffe's toy shop in Munich, where there is on exhibition a per- fect reproduction of the 1777 en- counter between Burgoyne, Gates and Schuyler. Wihlem Nahde, a tin soldier fan- cler, some time ago went to the United States to inspect the Sara- togh battlefield and search the libraries for detailed accounts of the fighting. Returning to Ger- many, he ordered his army from a Nuremburg firm of tin soldier man- ufacturers. Nahde - personally painted the little men, reproducing perfectly the uniforms of the Americans, English, Hesslans and Indians. The exhibit shows the troops arranged as in 1777. with Burgoyne, Gates and Schulyer commanding. The spectators ex- press especial admiration over the gorgeous heargear of the Indians. FORCES CHICKS TO GROW BY ELECTRIC PROCESS Poultry Expert Notes Success Ob- tained by Use of Ultra-Violet Ray. By the Associated Press NEWPORT, Shropshire, England. September 6. —Chickens which go home to roost do not get as much sleep as they did before ultra violet rays became a fad in poultry raising circles here. TYoung chicks have been made to grow twice as fast by the use oi| olectricity, says prof. Borlase Mat- thews, a poultry expert. Experiments have proven, he says, that young birds treated for nine weeks with the ultra_violet rays at intervals during the day and night become twice as beavy as those not so treated. Prof. Matthews advises poultry tarmers either to give chickens elec- | tricity-made ozone, as provided in London underground raiiways, or to bathe them with electricity radiated from electric wires over their perches at night. If this is done, Prof. Matthews contends, the vield in eggs ought to be increased by nearly 50 per cent NEW ROTAREX KOOK-RITE Cost $67.50 Will Sell at Any Fair Price.
