Clark Hunt, Cottonwood Falls, Kans., woman, has probably hit upon the most successful plan of frightening the thieving birds out of her cherry trees. After endeav oring to cover the trees with table cloths and other pieces from her laundry with indifferent success, xhe finally hung an old cow bell in one of the trees by a rope which was swung over a limb. The other end of the rope reached to her back porch. Now all she has ta do to save her cherry crop is to st on the porch in her rocking chair and give the rope an occasional jerk, with the vesult the hell rings and away fly the birds.
