WOMAN CONFESSES INFANTS' DEATHS - Three Out of Five Babies in Adoption Bill” Case Died Suddenly. By the Asociated Press. PKORIA, T, May 15 Three in fantx met sudden death out of five adoptsd by Mrs. Alice Marie Cramer she confessed to authorities here last night. Officlals are investigating the operation of what they term an “adop. tion mill” and a “haby farm.” Mrs. Cramer, arrested at East Peoria, later caused the detention of Joe Cramer, her husband; Jack Meyers and Flor- cnce Hall, who will be questioned re- |sarding the death of one infant fou! in a deserted house. The “baby farm.” authorities claim supplied childless families with babics on overnight orders, hv means of answering advertisements of persons who sought children for adoption. That the children were born out of wedlock is one phase which authori, ties are investigating. They also be- lieve they may eventually question physicians who may have supplied information to the operators of the baby farm, Where babies were avail- able for adoption and were not wanted by the mother.
