MINNEAPOLIS, May 4.—Four Gov- ernment barges, pushed up Mississippi River from St. Louis on a test trip to prove that the fleet of the Upper Mississippi River Barge Line Co. will be able to revive river transportation on the upper river—forgotten for a quarter of a century—when the com. pany starts operation in April, 1937, yesterday turned back for their re- turn trip to St. Louls. Allen, Government tow- boat, will push the barges to Prescott, where the Wynoka, which navigated them as far as Pine Bend, 20 miles down stream from St. Paul, will take them for the remainder of the trip.
