NEW YORK, April 23 (®).—Direc- tors of the General Electric Co. today announced a plan to split up the com- mon stock on a.4-for-1 basis, which will be submitted to the stockholders for their approval at the annual meet ing May 11. It is_proposed to change the exist- ing 1,850.000 authorized common stock of $100 par value to 7,400,000 s of no par value, and to give s holders four shares of the new stock for each one of the old. It is proposed to place the new shares on a dividend basis of 75 cents quarterly with a distribution df $1 annually in pecial 6 per cent stock.
