CHICAGO, February 16.—The executive committee of the “Commit- tee of Twenty-two,” appointed at the vecent Des Melnes agricultural con- ference, met here yesterfay and adopted a resolution indorsing the program of the farm orguniza*ions in support of the principles of the Dick inson bill, amended to make certain that the farm board would be ex- pressive of the economic interests of agriculture. Amendments would vrovide that conventions of bona fide farm organi- zations be held in each of the Fed- eral Farm Land Bank districts and that at each of these conventions of the farm council which the Dick- inson bill would create. This farm council would select three names from each of the land bank districts and the names so se lected would be submitted to the Senate for ita approval as members of the farm board which under the terms of the Dickinson bill will work with the co-operative organizations in marketing farm surpluses. The chatrman of the agricultural committees of both the House and Senate and Representative Dickinson were notified of the action of the committee, which also adopted plans for the advancing of egriculture. The administrative committee of the Committee of Twenty-two will be in Washington as advance guard on February 25, while the Committee of Twenty-two will arrive March 1 and is planning to meet with the agricul- tural committees of House and Senate March 1. Tt is hoped the Dickinson bill will be in final shape and re- ported favorably to both houses o that it can be enacted into law by April 15. o SN ‘Wins Reception Contest. The Senate also passed a bill to create a commission to procure a_de- sign for a distinctive flag of the Dis- trict of Columbla. It creates an un- paid commission to obtain such a de- sign. The bill has the indorsement of the Daughters of the American Revo- lution and the District Commission- ers. A third bill passed by the Senate transfers jurisdiction over reservation No. 248 from the director of public buildings and public parks to the District Commissioners. The reser- vation is located at the conjunction of Potomac avenue and First and O streets southeast, and is needed by the District government for the ex- tension of the facilities of its sew- erage division.
