SOUTHERN PACIFIC Held for Murder in South Carolina | PATRONS DIFFER ON CAR STOP AT DUPONT CIRCLE Change to South Side Opposed by Some as Merely Shifting “Dangerous Condition.” A decided difference of opinion as to the advantage of the present Du- pont Circle car stop has developed among patrons of the Georgetown and Mount Pleasant lines of the Washington Railway and Electric Co., according to petitions received by the Public Utilities Commission. The Conduit Road Cltizens' asso- clation and one group of passengers through the Christiania Drug Co. have urged the transfer point be re moved to its former location t Connecticut avenue and P street. The present location, they pointed out has not relieved “dangerous traflic conditions, .but_ has only ferred them to the south side of the circle.” The petition opposing the change bore 50 stgnatures. It declared that the present transfer point eliminates the dangers to pedestrians, facilltates motor traffic on Connecticut avenue, and is more convenient and practical for all cencerned.” Director of Traffic M. O. Eldridge also advised the commission that he is opposed to a change. The present location, he contended, has been a very material aid to traffic. Birth Control Scored. Specia!
