SAN FRANCISCO, December 25.— The State yesterday sued to collect an inheritance tax on jewels estimated to be worth $100,000, stored here by |g Mrs. Mary Helen Do Nassue, the mar- quise de Fuvigny, when she sailed for the Orient in June, 1918, Action was entered against Mrs. Mab MecLach- lan of London, daughter of the mar- quise. The jewels, including two gold and platinum dog collars, studded with diamonds and pearls, were placed in a safe deposit box by the marquise with instructions to deliver them to herself or to Mrs. McLachlan, her daughter.
