By tho Associated Press. NEW YORK, December 11.—From hostler in the stables of the Cossacks to Shah of Persia has been the rise of Reza Khan Pehlevi. The Persian parliament, known as the National Consultative Assembly, has been retained by Reza to carry out his will in the manner of a constitu- tional regime. It is this body which, it-is belleved. has sanctioned his ele- vation to the throne. Recent dis- patches have indicated that the gov- ernment was busy drafting regula- tions for convening the Assembly and that it was virtually certain that Reza would be elected Shah. The new ruler of the Persians had little chance during his childhood to obtain even an elementary education, and it has been rumored that as far as writing is concerned he is only able to sign his name. An exhibit showing how prints are made, prepared by the division of graphic arts, has been loaned to the 10 S0 Public Library for the months of De- cember and January. The exhibit consists of 20 mounts, which are displayed on a case in the lobby of the Public Library, Eighth street and New York avenue. Ex- amples of the more important proc- esses, known collectively as the graphic arts, are included. These are wood cuts, wood engravings, line engravings, mezzotints, etchings, aquatints, lithographs, colloty: photogravures, half tones, line cuts, aquatones, rotogravures and others. The pictures and prints shown are not rare museum specimens, but things which every visitor will be able to recognize in his daily contacts FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11, 1925. with newspapers, magazines, books, {llustrated advertisements, as well as library and museum collections. The aim is to stimulate the appre- clation of prints and pictures of all kinds by showing the various kinds of prints side by side, so that differ- ences may be seen and identifying features pointed out. The labels do not attempt technical instruction, but do tell briefly how a print is made, why it differs from other prints and something of its history. The library has many of the books that are listed on one of the mounts and also others on printing and en- graving.
