NEW YORK, December 7.—Fea- tures of the bond market today includ- ed a brisk rally in French government securities, active buying of New York City Traction issues at higher prices and a renewal of the speculation in certain of the high ylelding rallroad bonds. The recovery in the French group apparently was not in response to any fresh news, inasmuch as there was no corresponding rally in French francs. Nevertheless the French 8s gained neurly a point, French 738 crossed 99 against last week's low of 97% and Frenck: 7s sold at 91 for the first time sincc the weakness which followed the fali of Caillaux. French Cities 6s went along with the government bonds. Among the New York City tractions Brooklyn Manhattan Gs were active, above 91 and within a fraction of thelr record high. Interborough Rapid Transit refunding 5s, stamped, cross- ed 67 in volume, while the same com- pany 5s 6 per cent notes sold above 70, and Third Avenue adjustments gained a half point. Even New York Rail- way 6s were fractionally higher. The leader of the speculative rails was Missouri-Kansas- Texas adjust- ments, which, at 92, were up 2i3 points above the low of last week. A moderate gain was made by St. Louts- San Francisco incomes, and the Erie bonds generally were higher.
