Jars & Tubes By the Associated Press NEW YORK, November 18.—Craw- ford Livingston, railroad builder and capitalist, died Monday at his Fifth avenue home. He waa 78 vears old. Mr. Livingston, a native of this city, plaved a prominent role in the rail- road development of the Northwest. He first entered railroading as a pur- chasing agent at St. Paul for the Winona and St. Peter Railway. Later, aided by the late Henry Villard, he built #he Little Falls (Minnesota) Railway. With the late A. B. Stick- ney, he constructed the Minnesota Central and the Chicago Great West- ern Railway. Alone, he built and partly owned the' James River Valley (N. Dak.), Duluth-Manitoba and Little Falls and Dakota roads. Mr. Livingston formerly was presi- dent of all lighting companies of - St. Paul and for many years had been a director of the Northern Pacific Rail- | road and president of the Merchants' National Bank of St. Paul.
