PASTOR RETURNS 10 PULPIT HERE Or, D. C. MacLeod, Formerly at First Presbyterian, Is Visitor. Rev. Dr. Donald C. MacLeod of Omaha, Nebr., will preach at the First Presbyterian Church, John Marshall * place and C street, tomorrow at 11 am. Dr. MacLeod was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church for 14 vears (1899-1913), as successor to the late Rev. Dr. Byron Sunderland and Dr. T. DeWitt Talmage and the imme- diate predecessor of the present pas- tor, Rev. Dr. John Brittan Clark. Dr. MacLeod will teach the Mac- Leod Sunday school class of the church tomorrow morning. DODD WILL PREACH ON “GREATEST SERMON” in Talks by Visiting Pastor at Immanue)] Baptist Church. Dr. M. E. Dodd of the First Baptist Church, Shreveport, La., continues his ministry at Immanuel, ‘the Natlonal Baptist Memorial Church, during the month of August. His sermon tomor- row morning will be “The World's +Greatest Sermon"; the evening, “The Prayer Life of Jesus.” Dr. Dodd has been drawing large congregations by his interesting sermons. In order to stimulate interest in a business meeting during the Summer a unique dinner was given by the Pink- ham Bible class for men last Tues- day evening in Rock Creek Park at Plerce Mill. A table was spread under the trees by the creek side and 35 men sat down to dinner, which was served by the women. Following the dinner the men gathered for a business meet- ing, at which many matters of interest to the class and to the community were discussed, the president of the class, D. W. Darden, presiding. Remarks of interest were made by Dr. Dodd and others. PASTOR HONOR GUEST. Naomi Class Gives Surprise Party for Rev. C. R. Stauffer. The Naom! Class of the Ninth Street Christlan Sunday School, Mrs. C. Bennfe, president, surprised its pastor and family last Monday eve- ning at their home, 412 Seventh street northeast. As a token of apprecia- tion and best wishes for the pastor and family, who will soon leave for Atlanta, Ga., gifts of silverware were given. The Naomi Class is the larg- est women's class in the church and has been very successful in all lines of activity during Rey. Stauffer's pastorate. Mrs. W. K. Martin is reacher of the class. Rev.
