30 THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C, TUESDAY, JULY 14, 1925. OLDFELDPLAS TOUR CAVPAGH Chairman of Democratic Congressional Committee Urges Strong Nominations. ‘With the slogan “No man is too big to run for Congress,” Representative Willlam A. Oldfield of Arkansas, chalrman of the Democratic congres- sional committee, just back from a series of organization meetings in Missouri and Indiana, is preparing his itinerary for a tour through Colo- rado, Utah, California, Oregon and Washington, in which he will urge that the strongest possible candidates be nominated in each congressional district. “Educate, organize, fight,” is the message Representative Oldfield is taking to Democrats all over the country in his work of laying a foun- dation for a determined campalgn by the Democrats to regain control in Congress. “The 1926 election will be the most notable in many years,” Representative Oldfield predicted to- day, basing this opinion on the en- thusiasm shown by Democratic lead- ers all over the country with whom he has been in conference. Representative Oldfield’s strategy is to concentrate his biggest guns on what are generally known as “close districts,” and much of his organiza- tion work has been directed to this end. At the same time, the Republican organization is preparing to meet the attacks in those centers and also to carry the fight to the enemy in a number of Democratic strongholds. Just returnied from organization meetings in Missouri and Indiana, Representative Oldfield announced that he would leave soon for a swing through the West on a similar mis- sion. He will speak at gatherings of State Democratic leaders at Omaha, Nebr.; Den Colo.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Los Angeles and San Francisco, C Portland, Oreg., and Spokane and Seattle, the organization from State commit- tees down to precinct bodies. GERMAN KILLER OF EIGHT IS SENTENCED TO DEATH Angerstein Receives Fate With Unconcern—Declares Penalty Is Only Just One. By the Associated Press. LIMBURG, Germany, July 14 —Sen- tence of death was passed yesterday on the factory director, Angerstein, for the murder of eight persons, mem- bers of his household, last December. Angerstein received the sentence coolly, asserting his deeds were ex- plable only with death. The wholesale murderer had been on trial for a week. On the stand he described calmly and unconcernedly how he killed his wife and other victims. He never be- trayed a sign of emotion, even when he told how he had enticed his victims into a room separately and killed them with an ax and hunting knife. WELCOMED TO MOSCOW. New Japanese Ambassador to Rus- sia Gets High Honors. MOSCOW, July 14 (#).—The new Japanese Ambassador to Soviet Rus- sla, Tokichi Tanaka, arrived this morning, and was cordially received.
