The copper stocks were to Tuesday’s news, which was sup- plemented this morning by word that the quotation on the coppe: had been definitely at 14 pound. This compared - wi cents a week ago. Kennecott was up nearly 2 points, Anaconda a point, Inspiration over a point. Utah Copper made a new high record. Most of the New York customers of the firm have volun- tarily assigned 50 per cent of their equity. CHICAGO, July 8.—A Chicago; creditors’ meeting agreed today upon a new plan for the financial rehabili- tation of Dean, Onativia & Co., under which 30 per cent of the obligations would be funded for deferred pay- ment over a period of flve vears. NEW YORK, July 8.—Interest in bonds today was confined to individ- ual issues, more or less speculative in character. A notable feature was provided by the Virginia-Carolina Chemical 7338 with warrants, which were up about 2 points to the highest in two years. Virginia-Carolina first mortgage 7s improved to a lesser degree. Both these movements were in response to the better outlook for reorganization. Anaconda 7s Strong. The strength in copper stocks was accompanied by an urgent demand for Anaconda 7s carrying the price above 102 for the first in weeks. These bonds are convertible into Ana conda_stock on a sliding scale, the first $10,000,000 principal amount of debentures to be converted at a price for the stock of 53. Among the sugars the feature was the duplicating of its high for the| year by Manati Sugar 7is. Treasury Bonds Active. Trading in the high-grade invest ment group went on very quietly. Prices were firm around the best le els of the year, but there was little disposition to advance them farther.
