CHURCH RATIFIES FOSDICK REQUESTS Rockefeller Congregation Meets Conditions of Noted Modernist. By the Associated Press, NEW YORK, May 23.—The Park Avenue Baptist Church—the Rocke- feller church—after a spirited debate during which a woman objector fainted, has ratified the actlon of the trustees in calling to its pulpit the Rev. Harry Emerson Fosdick, mod- ernist. The congregation by its vote last night accepted three conditions lald down by Dr. Fosdick, who for years was the storm center of religious con- troversy when he occupled a Presby- terian pulpit. Seventeen members out ©Of 400 present dissented. A motlon to make the call unanimous was blocked by Miss Annie Peck, mountain climber. She led the opposition.
