Drignakovitch, arrived in Wash ington yesterday and has taken apartment at Wardman Park Hotel. Mrs. John Hays Hammond was hostess to a large company at luncheon today in compliment to the nresident of the International Coun cil of Women, the Marchioness of Aberdeen, who is presiding at the sixth quinquennial conference of that organization being held in Washing: on. Mrs. Hammond's company in- cluded many of the delegates and di tinguished women of _Washington, among them Senora de Riano, Senora de Mathieu, Senora de Pueyrredon, Senora de Tellez, the Baroness von Maltzan, Mme. McDonald and|| Judge Perkins. The Secretary of State and Mrs. Frank B. Kellogg attended the final meeting of the season of the State Department Club last evening. Mr Francis White of the State Depart ment and Mrs. White entertained a small company at dinner before the meeting. Mrs. John B. Henderson gave a very interesting and unusually de- lghtful reception vesterday afternoon in honor of the members of the Inter- national Council of Women now hold- ing thelr quinquennial convention in Washington. Mrs. Henderson recefv- ed from 6 to 7 o'clock in her house, at 2701 Sixteenth street, which was gay with Spring blossoms, the charming small conservatory adding much to the beauty of the house. Mrs. Hen- derson, wearing a gown of black lace over dark red satin, stood just inside the drawing room door, a glowing open fire giving cheer as well as warmth. The tea table and punch bowl were set in the dining room be- vond, a tall vase of Spring flowers forming the centerpiece on the tea table, and the doors opened to the conservatory, where guests prome- naded. An orchestra played in the ballroom, which flanks the drawing room &nd dining room on the north, and there about 6 o'clock Mrs. Hen- derson and the Ambassador of France, M. Daeschner, led a grand march of the guests, with Gen. Nelson A. Miles, Gen. George Barnett, Senator and Mrs. Robert N. Stanfield. Baroness von Maltzan, and many others of offi- cial, diplomatic and smart residential circles following the lead of their hostess. Miss Beatrice Henderson, granddaughter of Mrs. Henderson, assisted her and was in a dress of vhite georgette crepe figured with large flowers in a soft shade of red.
