The comment of one of the large wire houses—J. S. Bache & Co.—on current stock market saye in par “The important question of the mo- ment is whether or not the bull| market s difinitely over. In this connection it may be ,énl'rrs!lng to Zo back over seven previous bull markets covering a period of 28 years. In every instance the bull markes was divided into two separate up-| ward swings of broad proportions and, furthermore, in every instance there was an intermediate correction which in some cases went as far as losing a third of the first gain. The minimum loss was 25 per cent. “The usual duration of these inger- medlate corrections has been abo days. The present days lost approximately 22 per cent of the upswing from May, 1924, to March, 1925, so that even with fur- ther corrections in sight, it would not be disproportionate to the history of previous bull markets. However, in applying previous market movements to present conditions, an immediate resumption of the broad bull market | &ppears premature.” STOCK PRICES CRUMBLE. weak. down Market Clcses Welk After Violent Break. the Associated Press NEW YORK, March ock prices crumbled to their lowest levels of the year today, with selling in- spired by the growing bewrish sen- timent, the further collapse in wheat prices and higher call money rates Selling pressure centered at first in the Eastern coalers, but soon spread | to other p: of the list, United | States Steel, Baldwin and many other popular rails snd breaking 2 points ¢ previous resista approximated 1 The closing W heavy. Special Dispateh to The Sta: NEW YORK, March 30.—Weakness in foreign bonds was the feature of today's market. Second grade and speculative domestic securities sold down in sympathy with stocks, but the, heaviest pressure was exerted upon the foreign groun, with French issues the chief sufferers. New lows for the year wére recorded through- out the French list, including obliga- tlons of the republic itself, of French cities and provincés and of French rallways, French Eights Below Par. The French 8s today sold below par for the first time this year and more than 51 points down from the high of January. French 7 lost more than a point and also made a new low of b points under the best price around the first of the year. The most recently offered French issues. the 78 of 1949, were very weak, off at one time over 2 points. The weakne adversely There was a some of the new most evident in trading between deal- ers.
