Goethals. — ARCTIC COAL VEINS FOUND MOSCOW, March 25.—Discovery of four big coal seams beneath the bed of the Petchora River by the Northern Scientific Expedition, which has just returned to Leningrad, is announced by the official Soviet news agency, Rosta. Iron and copper deposits are said to have been found near the Popaia River. The scientists visited previously un- explored parts of the-Arctic island of Novaya Zemlya.
