NG STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C., SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 19: The Ensemble Idea Dominates All Spring Fashion It may be the Ensemble Costume—Complete and ready to choose and wear as an Ensemble or as a dis- tinctive frock or coat. Or you may create your own Ensemble by choosing harmonizing individual styles and colors in accordance with the Ensemble type you have in mind. Here we have assembled the Ensemble of Fashion in many versions—as complete Ensembles, and as in- tegral parts ready to create Ensembles of your own choosing. The five types we show here are indicative of the mode, and typify how insistent fashion is upon complete harmony in every detail of the costume. For every hour of every woman’s day there is an Ensemble Cos- tume, or Individual Costumes and Accessories ready for you to create your own Ensemble from the many beautiful harmonizing fashions in our displays. AL Prints Important in the More Feminine Ensemble for Afternoon The trend toward greater feminine elegance, which is at the same time smartly simple, favors the softened silhouette. Frocks are slim in repose but rippling and fluttering in motion. These soft fluttering' movements are introduced by circular or pleated front flares, low- placed flounces, godets, and the newest note is the long, flowing sleeve. And the printed frock of crepe de chine or chiffon is the favored frock of this mode. The model illustrated is $39.50, others from $25 to $115. Accessories that Complete the Picture A Large Velvet Poppy, $3.75, or a New Lace Jabot, $3.95, are accessories that add a charming touch. The “Bandoleer,” worn in the manner of the First Em- pire, is seen at smart afternoon gatherings, and an arm- ful of bracelets enhances slender wrists. Bandoleer, $7.
