Work on five altars at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at Catholic University is to be rush- ed, according to an announcement made today after a meeting of archi- tects, marble men and artists working on the structure. The ceramic work in the three apses will be started immediately and that in the western apse will be the first to be carried out to its fullness. This apse, indicating ‘“‘prophecy,” will have not only the picture of “Miriam,” the sister of Moses, a type of the Blessed Virgin, but also two Orantes typified by figures from the Old Testament.
