Gives Joy-Rider Sentence to Expire Christmas Eve. Chief Justice McCoy essayed the role of Santa Claus yesterday for William Stepney, colored, 20 years old, charged with joy-riding. The court sentenced Stepney to remain in jail until Christmas eve. The boy had already been in custody flve months awaiting trial. Stepney promised to sidestep the cup that cheers during the Christmas holldays and to get himself a job. The action of the court was taken at the request of his coun- sel, John M. Wilson.
