Universal Service i BRITISH RETALIATION .~ IS SEEN IN MEXICO MEXICO CITY, British circles here are disposed to be pessimistic over news of the ap- pointment of Sir Thomas Beauchamp Hohler to be British Minister to Chile, In some quarters it is accept- ed as a retaliation for the withdraw- al of the Mexican consuls from Great Britain. o Sir Thomas had once been chosen for a special mission to Mexico tc study and report to the British gov- ernment about the general Mexican situation with a view to the rest tion of diplomatic relations, which were gevered when Cunard Cummins. the British representative in Mexico City, was expelled for his a@tions in the now famous Rosalie Evans as- sassination case. The Obregon government then in- sisted that Cummins should leave immediately and refused 'to await the arrival of Sir Thomas. In view of that action by the Mexican govern- ment Ramsay MacDonald, then Brit- ish prime minister, declared that probably the resumption of relations with that country would be post- poned indefinitely (Copyright, 1921, by vember 20.— . feago Daily News f New Costumes For Every Fancy Dress Occasion Our assortment of Fancy Dress Costumes is brand- son -— fresh and i i | | | 1 i will permit e dress any part you want 1o assume—funny or dignified; | sentimental or historic; both | men’s and women's— In Cotton Satine $4.50 $8.00 With all the accessories —Muke up Paints, Wigs, Favors, Fun- makers, ete. .
