She is a graduate of Holton A School, this city, and of the University of Wisconsin, from which institution she recelved the degree of B. M. She is mot only possessed of a charming singing voice, but is a pianist of unusual ability and a composer, some of her music hav- ing been produced in New York. Mr. and Mrs. Dennett and their family figure largely in_the official and social life of Washington. Mr. Dennett’s brother, R. E. Dennett, is a famous scientist, having distinguished himself in work in Africa. Mrs. Dennett arid her daughter are mem- bers of the Congressional Club. Mr. Slemp is a son of the late H.C. Slemp, captain in the Confederate Army and a former member of the State Senate of Virginia. He i3 the business associate and first cousin of Mr. C. Bascom Slemp, secretary to the President, and of Mrs. John W. Newman of Versailles, Ky. He is actively engaged in the management of several large coal operations in Eastern Kentucky, with headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.
