Lewlis B. Woodruff, her husband, is a noted lawyer and sclentist. . Mrs. Woodruff, who was born at Selma, Ala., 36 years ago, suffered several years from nervous disorders, and for two years was totally blind. It was while blind that she wrote “The Lady of the Lighthouse,” the best seller of 1923, and gave the royalties to the New York Association for the Blind. A number of lodge notables expect to attend. The program includes sham battles by the marines, maneuvers by air- planes, parade and other features. The Rebekahs will march with the 0Odd Fellows. There will be three canh prizes awarded for the best ap- pearing lodge of Rebekahs, It is ex- pected that there will be ‘about 10 bands in the parade and the proces- sion will be headed by the Marine Band from Quantico. La Follette Headquarters Report Contributions to Campaign. CHICAGO, October 15.—The man- agement of the indopendent presiden- tial campaign being waged by Sena- tor Robert M. La Folletto thus far has collected about $200,000 in cam- paign contributions, national head- quarters here has announced. According to John M. Nelson, na- tioral campalgn manager, national headquarters here has received about $104,000 and the Washington head- quarters upward of $100,000. There have been 4,675 donors to Senator La Follotte’'s campaign, according to campaign bocks, but it was explained that this included $25,000 advanced by W. T. Rawleigh of Freeport, 1il., of the national finance committee. and also included collections taken at La Follette meetings listed as individual contributions.
