CAR INCREASE IN 1924 ' NEAR HALF MILLION Records Show 15,522,077 Automo- biles Operating in United States This Year. Automobiles increased 20 per cenf during the first six months of this year, as compared wifh last year, it was announced by the American Auto- mobile Assoclation yesterday in a dtatement based on statistics of the United States Bureau of Public Roads. The total number of automobiles registered in the first six months of this vear, it was id, was 15, i including 13.64 passenger cars; 831,405 motor trucks and 74,946 , busses and cars for hire.
