By the Associated Press. W YORK, September 15.—Plans to readjust the capital structure of the Gillette Safety Razor Co. through a split-up of shares and declaration of a stock dividend, were announced today. Under a proposal approved by the directors, 149,000 shares of unissued stock will be distributed on Decem- ber 1, as a stock dividend. The com- pital then will be increased ,000 to 2.000,000 shares of no ué, the additional stock being | ributed to stockholders through | an exchange of three shares of new for one of old. When the recapital- ization is comphted, present holders of 100_shares will have 570 shares of new stock. Dividends on the increased capital will be paid at the annual rate of $£2.50 a share with occasional extras, if justified, Chairman J. E. Aldred has notified stcckholders, in calling a special meeting for October 6 to vote on the proposal. $2,300,000 MAILED T0 TOBACCO RAISERS Checks Sent to 53,000 Growers in Three States—Growers Are Satisfied. RICHMON Checks for 000 members of the Tob: Association of the Carolinas and Vir- ginia. This is the third payment ox the crop of last year, and is about 75 per cent of the valuation of the crop as fixed by the officers handling the affairs of the organization. The price paid to the farmers is in all ways satisfactory, according to the members, the only adverse criticism being that they have had to wait a little longer than formerly for their money, but they say that they have received more than for years past for their tobacco under the old system. PLANTS ON FULL TIME. HOUSTON, September 13 (Special). —All industrial plants here are work- ing full time, with a normal number of hands engaged. There is a slight shortage of bricklayers and plaster- ers and a steady demand for farm and dairy hands and cotton pickers. Protect Your Money.
