Another 3500 summer university scholarship has been awarded to a Washington public school teacher— Miss Mary O'Brien of the Blake School —because of her meritorious work in the contest conducted by the Ameri- can Child Health Association, it was announced today. One scholarship previously was awarded to Miss Marie Jordan, teacher in the Miner Normal School. Miss O'Brien is a graduate of West- ern High School of the class of 1911 In 1913 she was graduated from the Wilson Normal School. She is the teacher of the “open window” room at the Blake School, where the phys- ical defects of a number of the pu- pils are corrected every year under her instruction.
