The appointment of Robert Lansing as an American member of one of the two Mexican claims commission has been prevented by the develop- ment that the former Secretary of State in his legal capacity represent- ed some interests likely to become claimants before the commissions, it was indicated at the White House vesterday. Mr. Lansing said yester- day he had not been approached re- garding any such appointment.
