More than sixty applicants have been received for the April 9 exam- fnation by the Civil Service Commis- sion for positions as assistant patent examiners, and at least 100 are ex- pected by that dfl.le.‘_ Many will not pass, it is anticipat- ed. so that additional examinations will be necessary.. The commission intends holding these examinations until the hundred needed are secured. and a few extra to provide for future needs, The patent office positions offered carry an entrance salary of $1.860 a year and increases are provided up to $5.000 a year.
