D, bishop coadjutor of the diocese of southern Virginia, chairman of the board of missions of the provincial synod of the Episcopal Church, has called a meeting of the board which will be held next Wednesday at the church offices, 1417 K street north- west. The board is composed of eight men, both clergymen and laymen, representing the Episcopal Church throughout the states of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, ginia and the District of .~ The meeting is for the purpose of reporting the results of the work for the mission. of the church in 1923 and the prospects for 1524, Rev. D. c, RELIGIOUS EDUCATION BOARD,TELLS PROGRAM Letters Explaining Importance Are Sent to All Members of Episcopal Church. The board of religious education of the Episcopal Church has announced its program for the encouragement of gifts to the children’'s Lenten of- fering for 1924, the importance of the offering have been sent to all Episcopal clergymen. There will be mass meetings for children February 24. The mecting for the children of Washington will be held at Epiphany Church at 4 p.n d_simultaneous meetings will be held at several points in the rural parts of the dio- cese. The following Sunday will be observed as missionary Sunday in all the Sunday schools of the diocese. A questionnaire will be filled out at Easter in_every parish, giving the amount of the Lenten offering and the number of children, contributing. Last year the diocese of Washing- ton stood number eightcen among the dioceses of the Kpiscopal Church in the per capita offering of the chil- dren for missions.
