ORD hasreached me indirectly that ceriain persons in this vicinity are spread- ing a malicious lie about g, I don’t lknow whether this is wilful slander or just plain stupidity. ILimagine it is the latter. Every new product, no mat- ter how great its merits, is sneered at byafew people whose dense ignorance only lightning can penetrate. These persons, whoever they arehavedemonstrated theirlow degree of mentality in the case of Baw#e, by the statements they have broadcasted. Frankly, it is only because the reports which they have spread are a direct reflection on my own veracity that I am pub- lishing this statement. These people have said that Baee# has pitted the surfacesand . affected the lubrication of cer- tain automobile motors “that they know of.” Now I have re- peatedly said that Bee# is ab- 'solutelv harmless—that, being . an oil, it positively cannot in- jure metal s ces. That is why, to nail once and for all the stupid lie that has been spread about this product to which 1 have given my name, I am offering a reward of $5000.00 to any person or persons who can prove to me that Baee#® has at any time damaged the metal of any motor of any kind, anywhere. I am offering this reward in earnest of my good faith and because I feel that this type of falsehood reflects not only on me but on my friends the dealers listed on this page who sell Be>® and who have recommended it to their customers because they know that it does all that I have said of it.
