S. to Comply i With Tax Decision. l \ Prompt compliance with decislons of the federal courts regarding the collection of inheritance taxes in the cases affected by the eommunity property laws of California has been urged upon the Treasury and Justice Departments_by Senator Shortridge, republican, California. The senator said that approximately $50,000,000 in erroneously coliected taxes are to be refunded under court decisions which have held that the portion of the community property held by the wife under the state laws during the life of the husband is not to be construed as an inheritance upon the death of the husband.
