ALEXANDRIA, Va., Xovember 8.— The Washington-Virginia Railway Company will appear before Judge Samuel G. Brent here next Thursday, November 15, to answer charges made against it in a petition asking a re- ceiver, which was filed at Fairfax Court House last Saturday by a bond- holder. This date was set by Judge Brent after Attorney Gardner L. Boothe asked more time in which to prepare his answer. Many of the charges brought were happenings of from ten to fifteen years past, it is declared. There aic more than fitty pages of typewritten matter in the petition. Attorney Boothe returned yesterd: from Philadelptiz, where he confer. red with the stockholders' committee under whose supervision the road is now being run. A stout fight agalnst & receivership will be put up by the several cémpanies involved. Band Plans Drive. The Citizens' Band, an Alexandria institution which has made a wonder- ful record for itself during the past year, ¥ planning a drive whereby it hopes to increase the number of pieces.
