MOBILE, Ala., October 23.—Fears that unidentified ships, together with all on board, may have perished in the recent heavy winds and seas which swept the gulf are expressed in maritime circles, following the re- port of Capt. C. H. Daughrill of the tug Lytle that he had sighted masses of wreckage floating in the gulf on his scouting tour for vessels in dis- tress. 1 Torn and twisted spars, timbers and hplls, apparently wrecked within the past few days; were heing tossed on heavy resulting from the gulf disturbance all the way from Pensacola to Chandelur Island, Capt. Daughrill reported. Saw Body Floating. Capt. Daughrill also reported sight- ing the body of a man floating in the gulf some miles from Perdido bay. T})e body was believed by Capt.
