Q. Wright. HOLY NAME SOCIETY TO JOIN PILGRIMAGE Members From Three States and District to Attend Canoniza- tion Ceremony. Spectal Dispatch to The Star. BALTIMORE, October 13.—Members of the Holy Name Society of Balti- more, Washington, Hagerstown, Cum- berland and nearby points of Pennsyl- vania, Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia will join in a pilgrimage tomorrow to the tomb and shrine of Mother Seton, who is to be canonized. The tomb and shrine are located at the shrine of St. Anthony, near Em- mittsburg, in the vicinity of Mount St. Mary's College for priests and Mount St, Joseph's College for women, founded by Mother Seton. Because of the significance given the spot, the pilgrimage probably become an annual event, ac- cording to leaders in the shurch. DR. MONTGOMERY SPEAKS. . Reports from all parts of the coun- | try indicating that the demand for rabbis for Jewish synagogues and qualified teachers for Jewish religi- ous schools i8 ten-fold greater than the supply has caused prominen leaders of that faith to issue an ap. peal to their co-religlonists to raise an endowment fund of $1,000,000 for the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. John, who was ordained to the priesthood June 13, in New York city, has been invited to St. Augustin's Church, 15th street between L and M streets northwest, together with Rev. C. Tncles of the Epiphany Apostolic College, Wal- brook, Baltimore, Md., and Rev. J. H. Dorsey, pastor of St. Monica’s Church, Baltimore, Md., for services tomor- row. Solemn high mass will be cele- brated at 11 o'clock, with Father John, the Youngest of the colored priests, as celebrant. Father Uncles, the oldest colored priest in the coun- try and a professor at Walbrook, will be deacon and also will deliver the sermon on this occasion.
