PRIEST AND WOMAN DENY LIQUOR CHARGES Father Grace’s Trial Set for July| 10 by Federal Court—No Date Set for Denver Matron. By the Associated Press. Col,, June 20.—Father Walsh, his brother-in-law; vesterday pleaded not guilty in fed- eral court to indictments charging violation of the prohibition laws. They asked the court to appoint coun- sel for them. Their trials were set for July 10. Mrs. Katharine O'Connor, wealthy Denver society woman, indicted on a charge of conspiracy to violate the prohibition laws with Father Grace and Walsh, also pleaded not guilty. Her request for a separate trial was granted, although no date was set. s grew out of a large | ] ded liquor from a | Kentucky distillery to a_charitable institution here. Some of it disap- peared, federal officials allege, and found its wuy to gay parties given by Denver society people. Committees to formulate plans for the entertainment of the world dairy congress which is to visit Washing- ton in October will be appointed at a meeting of the local dairy and business interests at the Willard Hotel this afternoon. Two hundred persons prominent in the business affairs of Washington have been invited to attend the meet- ing by Prof. I. C. Weld, secretary of the International Association of Dairy and Milk Inspectors. The opening sessions of the world dairy congress will take place in ‘Washington October 2, the delegates will remain here until the 3d and then go to Philadelphia and Syra- cuse.
