Groesbeck. An alleged con- fession by one of the other suspects held is said to have implivated him in the murder. He also is wanted at Hoboken, N. J., in connection with the murder of Police Lieut. Harms, who was shot in the back and killed: Police further allege the man is sus- pected of being implicated in several large robberies in New Jersey. | No denial was made by Dresch of his identity, when he was placed under arres but the New Jersey officers say that a mole on the right side of his face had been burned out since he left Newark. Phelps, seventy- €ix, veteran of the Indian wars, died at his home here of heart di 7 Col. Phelps was graduated from West Polnt in 1870 and served in New Mexico for the following twenty years, taking part_ in campaigns agalnst Geronimo, Rain-in-the-Face and Sitting Bull. He aided in the construction of the first railroads and telegraphs through the west “SAFETY HOUR” RESULT. Reduction in Number of Fatal Ac- cidents to Children Noted. NEW YORK, June 11.—Fewer school children in Greater New York were killed in street accldents dur- ing May than the month before through inauguration of safety hour, 3 to 4 p.m., designed to protect them while leaving school, the police bu- 1eau of safety announces.
