BALTIMORE, Md., May 26.—The threatened fight against the reromi- nation of Gov. Albert C. Ritchie has collapsed as the 4result of several conferences this week between state and city leaders of the democratic party, and the ticket, which it is claimed will be put on the ballot without a primary contest, will be as follows: For governor, Albert C. Ritchie of Baltimore city; for con- troller, William §. Gordy of Wicomico county; for attorney general, Thomas H. Robinson of Harford county. Mr., Jackson came to Baltimore Wednesday and held a conference with a number of the city leaders not aligned with the Weller wing of the party, but none of the partici- pants would give out any statement as to what transpired at the meet- ing, further than to say that the meeting was held for the purpose of “discussing what will be best for the republican party during the guberna- torial campaign.” In making up again with former Gov. Goldsborough, Senator Weller, who 18 the acknowledged state leader of the party, it is believed is laying his plans to regain control of the city committee, which has been dominated since 1921 by the Broenig-Lowndes- Jackson combination and which is held responsible for the two recent defeats of the republican party—the defeat of Senator -France last fall and the defeat of Mayor Broenig two weeks ago.
