Br the Associated Prexs BUENOS AIRES, May 21.—Seven American and British meat packing companies have memorialized the senate, declaring that enactment of the government's bill to control Ar- gentine meat is likely to ruin the meat industry in Argentina. The con- trol bill already has passed the chamber of deputies, The memorial declares that the gov- ernment has overlooked many eco- nomic and commercial factors which, if enacted into law, could destroy the foundation of the meat industry. It is held that the provisions of the bill giving the government access to the commercial secrets of companies would be unfair, partcularly as the government purposes to establish its own meat-packing plant. _— SOVIET CAPTIVES RETURN | British Trawler's Crew Suffered Hunger in Russia. Duke, New York capitalist, is in a hospital ‘here suffering from a broken shoulder and minor bruises about the face and body, which were sustained when he 18 sald to have fallen between two private cars, as the train to which they were attached pulled into a Cin- cinnati terminal vesterday. Hospital attendants said that Mr. Duke was resting easy and that he ex- pected to return to New York within a few days.
