With but & few members short of 100 per cent attendance present, George A. Lewis was elected presi- dent of the Washington Lions Club to serve for the ensuing ar, at a meeting of the organization in the New Willard Hotel last night. Mr. Lewls will succeed James P. Schick, whose term will expire the first week in June. Other officers elected were: Harry E. Claflin, first vice president; Thom- | Arj Leonard V City, June 26, were Rev. George F. Dudley, Charles W. Darr and James P. Schick. In his annual address President Schick detailed the many ectivities participated in by the local club, and thanked his clubmates for the “splen- did co-operation” extanded him. Mr. Schick announced that the movement to Install an organ in the new Washington auditorium, inaugu- rated by local Lions several months ago, had been temporarily halted, the club walting for actlon by the inter- national body, which will be taken at the June convention. Following a report read by Roger J. Whitford, chalrman of the “Amer- Icapization committee, the club voted to appoint immediat a committee to work for the Increase in_ appro- priations by Congress for such activ- ities. Gen.
