NEW YORK, April 27.—A new high record for news print production in the United States and Canada was set in March, when more than 235,000 | tons were produced. Shipments amounted to 1,000 tons more than production. Consumption of news print in the United States for March | was the heaviest on record, with the exception of October, 1922. March production of crude oil reach- ed the new high record of 1,810,710 barrels dafly. During the first quar- ter production was at the annual rate of more than 624,000,000 barrels, com- pared with 551,000,000 barrels in 1922, the increase being largely due to flush bid; offered, 99%;. production in the California fleld. Prices on repeat orders have been increased an average of 11 per cent over opening prices by the American Woolen Mills.
