THE EVENING: STAR, WASHINGTON, CRIPPLED LAD IN HOSPITAL TO DISPENSE JOY ON BIRTHDAY Seven-ycar-old Reuben Magaha, who has spent more than half of his life on a frame in the Children's Hospital to straighten out spinal trouble caused by tuberculosis of the bones, is the happlest child in Washington today. He is goWg to celebrate his eighth birthday next Sunday, and he'll have most of the sick and crippled youngsters in ward A as his guests. Only recently he has been released from the frame where he has been given special treatment to strengthen and improve the condition of his back. His small body is now ineir- led by a plaster cast. He has gained his reputation as the happiest young- ster in Children's Hospital by com- pressing his pailid 1ips and speaking cheerful words as he learned to talk. And when the happiest youngster in the hospital gets ready to celebrate a birthday there’s no one in Washing- ton that can squeeze any more en- joyment out of the cirele of happi- I ness.
