The cost for installing a heating system varies in different locations, but in a general way you will find hot-air and pipeless furnaces the least expensive. Steam heating comes next. Hot-water and the vapor systems cost the most. As an example of comparative cost, suppose a pipless furnace costs $150, a hot-air system would approximate $250. A steam plant would cost $350, and a hot-water or vapor system $475. These fizures suggest proportlonate costs—they do not represent selling figures. The upkeep or maintenance cost of the different kinds of heat varies ac- cording to climatic conditions.
