The splendid society show at the Hotel Hamilton last night, the Caba- ret Fantastique, took on & dozen dif- ferent angles to remove it from the routine of benefit entertalnments. The fact of the much overworked recelv- ing line fading into a general cor- dial greeting and the constant visit- ing from table to table, and all in- terspersed with dancing, assisted in the originality. The soft tones in the decoration of the great chamber In the hotel where the —entertainment took place lent, themselves to the added beauty of soft lights in varied color, pendant from the beamed celling, and the skillful use of spotlights from time to time, gave splendld effect. Added interest to the features of the pagegnt and general programn was given by the genuine socioty fashlon show at the tables, where the ele- gant costumes and jewels of the lay | Buests were in contrast to the beau- tiful or grotesque costumes of the plavers.
