The statement, based on action taken at a conference of religfous or- njzations called by the council's commission on temperance, which is headed by former Gov. Carl E. Milli- ken of Maine, asserts that such lib- eralization of the statutes would ef- cf a “virtual nulification” of the prohibition amendment. Wwho is conducting the revival services of the Methodist Episcopal churches of Washington at the Hamline M. E. Church, 9th and P streets northwest, will preach three sermons tomorrow—morning, after- noon and evening. The afternoon service, which will be held at 3 o'clock, will be especlally for women. Dr. Naftzger will speak on the subjett, “The Modern Woman,” or “Why Women Go Wrong." Men will be permitted to attend this serv- ice, but will be required to occupy seats in the gallery. De Vries, executive officer of the board of religious education of the Episcopal dlocese of Washington, in giving the sanction of the board to the organization of a co-operative so- ciety for church dramatics, warned against the dangers of performances not thoroughly considered in all their aspects before production. Seven Episcopal parishes were rep- resented at the meeting, which voted into existence an organization to en- ourage church pageantry and to give and instruction to those man- aging and taking part in such enter- prise.
